Poker Game Results

Huzzah,

What a great game and an even better turnout on a cold and windy winter night in late January. We had fourteen people around the table, twelve of which were playing some serious poker!

Bullit has finally given up the title of the BOOBY PRIZE KING ( he only had the trophy for the first player out for almost six months)! Thersea Sample now holds that honor.

Wow, we're not out of IRISH MIST now! Several bottles accompanied the players through the front door. It was good to see Roland again. Roland is looking for a new job! Bullit's broken ribs were hurting him somewhat. He had a picture of his grandson with him as well. Everyone selected their Civil War envelopes and stationary. It was a fun evening.

Men, it seems we have a dancer in our midst. Irish Brandon can dance! Well, be calls it dancing! Other might call it something else, but whenever he won a hand, he danced!

Oh, by the way, Brandon won his first tournament and walked away with the powder. Dan came in fourth and took home the six Campbell's soup mugs and soup assortment. Sgt. Martin and Pvt. Bullit took the 'caps" and cartridge rolls as prizes.

I will place the pictures of the Poker Game over at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/muddyriverbattalionmedical/. Feel free to join this group. This is a site I opened a couple of years ago on Yahoo as a secondary site for our Members MSN site. I am out of storage space on the MSN Members site. Consequently, I can't post the pictures to MSN until I remove some items from other MSN sites I frequent.

Yahoo allows me to upload 30 megs vs 3 meg on MSN.

The next Poker Game will be on the 24th day of February, the same day as the MIB breakfast at Union Station which begins at 9:30 a.m.. SET THIS DATE ASIDE NOW! The game will begin at 7:00 p.m.
.
I can't promise, but I believe a tent will be the first prize for the game in February, A wooden lantern may be the second prize and one pound of ffg powder will be the other prize.

Food for the next game will be" TACO NIGHT". So bring your favorite sauce and toppings. I'll have the soft drinks, BECKS, DOS XX , TECANTE, Margarita Mix and tequila too.

Men, if you haven't attended one of these games/evenings, mark your calendar and show up. You'll have fun. I hope to see you at either the MIB Breakfast at Union Station or the Poker Game or both on February 24th

MAIL CALL IMPRESSION

Over the last two campaign seasons I have been working on Mail Call, This coming season I want to launch full bore into it and make it an impressive part of CAMP LIFE for the visitors to our encampments and something you, the reenactor, will look forward to.

To do either I need your help. I would like you to see the collection of Union Envelopes and reproduction stamps I have collected. 1st Sgt Maxwell has a nice collection of period envelopes as well.

I am attaching an order form for your use and one example of a period envelope (Lady Liberty and Sword). Al you need to do is to download, print and glue the envelope together. Download the order form to see the names of the various envelopes I have available for download.

I would like each of you to see the envelopes. I have a color example of each at my home. You really need to see the envelopes in order to make a selection.

Since, Saturday, January 27th is the date for the monthly Texas Holden Game that would be a perfect time to stop my my residence and make your selection.

Of course there will be no charge for the envelopes! I will email your selections to you.

If you cannot come by and view the period envelopes just drop me an email with the name of the envelopes you want and I'll email them to you asap.

I also have period stationary for you to download.

I'll have the sample books at the Febrary 24th MIB Breakfast at UNION STATION as well.

2007 MIB Election Results

From the Captain:

Gentlemen
Please find enclosed, the Results of the recent MIB elections. This was one of the largest participations of recents years, and I want to thank everyone for participating. A big Thanks You, to everyone, who was willing to toss there hats in the ring, and willing to help fill the various positions. And of Course, a Big Congratulations to those elected to serve as Officers and NCO's.
I believe that the 2007 Call to Arms Schedual, is a well rounded, and decent collection of events, that will serve the MIB, and answer travel and recruiting concerns. Lots of close events and great potential for good solid MIB turnouts.
Anyway, Thank You again and as always - Huzzah!!!

NOTE - This event Fails, since at least a 3/4ths Majority of Participation is needed to have this event pass. At least 50% of Ballots did not mark anything on this event question. As stated earlier in the year, this type of event would not work, unless we had at least 20 Rifles+, which is the only way to survive in a Tactical against Injuns. This is fine though, since the Injuns have never reponded to several e-mails with our questions since the intial invite was received. There for, it is doubtfull that this event was going to be able to take place.
